Acts 10:20
Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
Maybe one of the greatest inhibitors to the Christian life is fear. Fear in itself is not bad; it only becomes bad when we misplace it. Because Peter had no doubt, we see that God was able to do great things through his life.
You will never do much for God if you allow fear to control your life. Fear has stopped many churches from doing great things. Fear has kept many believers from becoming what God wants them to become. Fear has kept many ministries from seeing God doing the miraculous through them. Fear has prevented many miracles that God wanted to perform. When you look throughout the Scriptures, you will see that there were so many things that God wanted to do, but fear kept Him from doing it. Imagine fear holding back Omnipotence. Imagine fear keeping the Creator from doing what He wants to do. Yet, we see that fear is a very powerful belief when it is not being used correctly. The only One you should fear is God, and fear placed on God will cancel the fear of “what-ifs.” There are several things that fear cancels out in the believer’s life that I would like to share with you.
First, fear cancels out vision. Fear causes you to only see the present instead of seeing what God can do in the future. Many people have lost their vision because they allowed fear to control their lives. You will never have a great vision for God to fulfill in your life when fear controls your life.
Second, fear, cancels out courage. It takes courage to step out to see a vision fulfilled, but when you allow fear to control your life, you will never have the courage to pursue your vision. Fear causes a vision to become a mirage because there is no courage to tell you that you can do it. If you want to do something great through your life, and if you want the courage to do those great things, you must cancel out fear from controlling your life.
Third, fear cancels out boldness. Boldness is the opposite of fear. You will never be bold enough to take a stand if you don't cancel out fear. You cannot be a bold soul winner if you allow fear to control your life. You cannot be a bold Sunday school teacher, preacher, or servant for Christ if fear is in control of your life. It takes boldness to be successful in the Christian life, but it will flee when fear controls your life.
Fourth, fear, cancels out faith. At the end of the day, you must live my faith and not by fear. I've watched many people run from the faith life because they were afraid of what might happen if they live by faith. My friend, I've never seen someone live by faith that God has not proven their faith to be worthy to honor. You may not understand what God is wanting you to do by faith, but by faith you go as far as you can because that is what faith does. I recently had someone asked me what they should do about God’s will for their life, and I told them to go as far as they can by faith, and depend on God to do the rest. You must cancel out fear if God will step in when you walk by faith.
You will never know the miraculous in your life if you allow fear to control you. Trust God; He will never fail you. You can live without fear in control of your life when you trust God, for trusting God is what it takes to see fear flee so that vision, courage, boldness, and faith can be in control of your life. Don't live the fearful life, but live the victory life in Christ.
