Deuteronomy 19:1

When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

The word success is only mentioned one time in God’s Word, but you will find God gives advice on how to find success in His Word. Sadly, many never find success because they never follow the formula God gives throughout the Scriptures for success. Every time you see God telling His people to do something, you will always find this formula. Let me share this formula that God gives to have success.

First, you must have a vision. You will notice in the verse above that it says, When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations,…. This is a statement of vision. This had not happened yet, but God envisioned it happening. You will never be successful in anything you do if you don't have a vision for what you want to do. A person who has no vision lives an aimless life that leads to nowhere. A church without a vision is an aimless church that does nothing for God’s kingdom. Vision is necessary if you will do anything for God. Vision gives you purpose for what you are doing, and it gives you the drive to get up every day to do something, even when you don't feel like doing it. You can have a vision if you will yield to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to give you one.

Second, you must be willing to separate from those things that will keep you from seeing your vision become a reality. You will notice that God says in verse 2, Thou shalt separate…. The person who will not live a separated life will never see their vision to become a reality. Some things are not bad to do, but they will keep you from accomplishing the vision that God has given to you. The young man who wants to be a professional sports player often separates himself from foods and people that will keep him from achieving his vision. God's people ought to have the strength to separate themselves from anything that keeps them from accomplishing the vision they have for God. If God is not in the forefront of your life, and if his vision is not what is driving you, you can be sure your vision will never become a reality. A person’s vision becomes a reality only when they are willing to separate from anything or anyone who keeps them from seeing that vision come to pass.

Third, a vision becomes a reality through preparation. Time must be taken to prepare if you want a vision to become a reality. Disorganized and unplanned people will go nowhere in life. Preparation is what tells you what you need to do next. Many people have a vision, but they don't know how they're going to make that vision become a reality. You must take the time to sit down and make plans to make your vision to become a reality.

Fourth, you must implement your plans if you want your vision to become a reality. Many people plan, but they never step out on those plans because they're afraid of failure. You will fail along the way to your vision because you cannot see the future as you prepare, but if you never step out, you won't know what to fix so that you can get to the destination, which is your vision becoming a reality.

These four steps are critical to finding success in anything that you do. God wants you to be a success, so you would be wise to follow His plans on how to make a vision a reality. If you follow His plans, you will also find success in any endeavor that you pursue.
