1 Kings 5:5

And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

Solomon said, I purpose to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God. One reason God used Solomon was because he had a purpose. He not only had purpose, but he also turned that purpose into a reality.

There are many people who purpose to do something, but few get it done. Just because you have a purpose does not make you a hero; making the purpose a reality is what separates you from the crowd. There are many people who think they are something because they have a lot of purpose, but their talk about their purpose is empty. There are several things you must do to turn purpose into a reality.

First, you must have a vision. No purpose becomes a reality without being a person of vision. Vision is what allows you to see where that purpose will take you. You cannot separate purpose and vision because they are both tied to each other. If you have purpose, you will have a vision, and that vision will give you the purpose to push yourself when you don't feel like doing it.

Second, you need planning. No purpose has become a reality without planning. You must plan how you can make your purpose a reality. A purpose with no planning is bound for failure. No purpose becomes a reality by doing what you feel; it only becomes a reality by making plans to achieve your purpose.

Third, you need execution. To have a vision and plans without execution only leads to failure. You've got to start doing what you have planned to do for that plan to work. You can sit and wait for everything to fall into place, but you will find that nothing will ever fall into place. Start executing the plan that you came up with if you want to get to your vision. When you start executing your plan, you will know what you need to correct as you work your plan.

Fourth, you need help. Nobody can do it alone. Every great purpose has always been done by getting others to join in that purpose. You can try to do it alone, and you will likely fail, or you can get others to help you and see that purpose to become a reality. However, you must share with others the same vision and plans that you have if you want to excite them to have the same purpose to help you.

Fifth, you need determination. You will encounter many obstacles along the way to making your purpose a reality, but you must be determined never to let anything stop you from what you are trying to do.

Sixth, you need focus. Focus keeps you from becoming sidetracked from unimportant things. Focus allows you to tell yourself you can't do something because it pulls you away from your purpose. Purpose becomes a reality when those with that purpose are solely focused on that purpose.

Seventh, you need stamina. Stamina is what keeps you going to the finish line. Stamina keeps you executing your plans all the way to the finished product. Without stamina, you will fail. You must keep putting one foot in front of the other until you get to the finish line if you want to see your purpose become a reality.
