The Guarantee of the LORD Being With You

1 Chronicles 22:16

Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.

Anyone who has a heart for God would want Him to be with them in everything they do. The LORD being with you means you have access to His power and protection to face whatever life throws at you. Every pastor should desire the LORD being with them as they try to build people and His church. Every believer should desire the LORD being with them as they try to reach the lost and serve in a ministry. Every person should desire the LORD being with them so they can succeed in whatever life endeavors they pursue that are within God’s will for their life.

However, the LORD being with a person is a result of specific actions. God promises never to leave or forsake us, but being with us is a guarantee that He will guide each step I take, and it means I have His power to do the miraculous in those pursuits that He is with me. Let me share the actions that guarantee the LORD being with you.

First, you must choose to be with the LORD. I am amazed at believers who want to do their own thing and could care less about doing what God wants them to do. The LORD being with you always starts with choosing to be with the LORD in all you do.

Second, the LORD being with you depends on your choice to take action. The word arise is a choice to stop sitting and start doing. There is no need for the LORD to be with someone who is sitting and doing nothing. Some choose not to be with the LORD, but then there are some who choose not to do wrong, but they take no actions to do right. You will never have the LORD with you if you don't arise and do something for God.

Third, the LORD being with you is dependent on walking the paths that those before you have walked. The word therefore means that someone else has already prepared the path for you to walk, and you must choose to walk those old paths instead of trying to forge a new path. I am reminded of Hebrews 12:1 which says, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Notice that the race set before us is the race that the great cloud of witnesses have already run on. God does not change His paths to walk your paths, but you are to change your paths to walk His paths if you want His presence with you and His power on you.

Fourth, the LORD being with you is dependent on you doing what you are supposed to do. Notice God says, Arise, and be doing…. Get busy doing what you are supposed to do and you will find the LORD will be right there by your side. If you go soul winning, you will find the LORD’s presence will show up while you are trying to lead people to Christ. As you teach and preach God’s Word, you will discover God’s presence with you. God’s presence being with you is dependent on doing right.

Do you want the LORD’s presence to be with you? Take these four steps and apply them to your life. You have God’s character to depend on that He will be with you if you do these four actions the result in His presence being with you.
