Your Access to All Power

Matthew 28:18

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

When Jesus says that all power is given unto Him in heaven and in earth, He is saying that there is nothing that He does not have the power to overcome. If you were to gather all the powers of the heavens and earth, Christ has more power than they do. If one problem that you face took the power of every miracle that Jesus performed to overcome, Christ has more power than that. Christ has the power to raise the dead, to cause the blind to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, and the sick to be healed; Christ has the power to conquer it all.

However, the power Christ has is accessible to every believer. No, we don't have the power in ourselves, but we have the power through Christ. John 14:12 reminds us, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. Notice that because Jesus went to the Father, He tells us we can do greater works. How can we do these greater works? We can do them through the power of Christ. However, all this power and these greater works require prerequisites if we are to see this power in our lives.

The first prerequisite is that we must be a personal soul winner. Matthew 28:19 says, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: The very first thing that Jesus requires is that we must go and reach the lost and get them baptized. You see, we need all of Christ’s power to be able to see people saved and baptized through our efforts. However, we must go soul winning to have this power work in our lives and ministries.

The second prerequisite is that I must teach others to be a witness for Christ. In Matthew 28:19, we are commanded to teach all nations. Jesus continues in Matthew 28:20 when He says, Teaching them to observe all things… I need all power if I want to teach others to be a witness for Christ.

The third prerequisite is that I must observe all things that God tells me to do. Matthew 28:20 says, Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you… Notice that we are to teach others to observe all things that Christ commands. We cannot teach all things if we are not doing all things ourselves. Obedience is critical to seeing all power working through our lives and ministries.

My friend, we must get busy in the work of the Lord to see all power in our lives and ministries. There is nothing we can face in life that we don't have the power to overcome as long as we are soul winning, training others to reach the lost, and obeying God in everything that we do. This is one of the greatest promises of God that we can use as we serve Him. If we are obeying these prerequisites, we can pray in confidence when we face obstacles or needs that we must overcome to win the lost and to obey His Word. Whatever you face today, you have all power to overcome, but don't waste that power. Most will never know what work Christ can do through them because they are not doing anything that needs His power to work through them. When you go soul winning, train others to win souls, and obey God’s Word is when you will know what all power can do through your life and ministry.
