Joshua 3:15
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
You would think God would pick a better time for Israel to cross the Jordan River. It was the time of harvest, and the Jordan River was overflowing its banks, yet God chose to have Israel cross it at the most difficult of times. Why? Because God does his greatest works in the most difficult situations and the hardest of times. When studying the Scriptures, the miraculous happened in times of impossibility. Think of it; it is not a miracle if it was not impossible. What makes a miracle a miracle is that it was impossible with man, but God took what was impossible with man and miraculously made it a reality.
Look at the impossible situations when God performed miracles in the Scriptures. The miracle of creation happened when God started with nothing and created this intricate and fascinating world. The miracle of Christ’s birth was that Christ was born of a virgin. The miracle of the Red Sea happened when God’s people were faced with the Red Sea on one side and Pharaoh’s army on the other. David defeating Goliath seemed to be impossible, as he was a youth and Goliath was a man of war from his youth and the champion that nobody could defeat. We could go on with every miracle, but you will see God took what was impossible and turned it into a reality. Each miracle in God’s Word started with the impossible.
God doesn't need easy situations to do the miraculous; He needs willing people to trust Him and step out by faith to attempt the miraculous. Most of the miracles God performed in the Scriptures were always done through His people. Were these people sinless? No! In fact, many of them had bad things they had done, but the one thing that changed the narrative was they had enough trust in God to attempt the miraculous by faith, and God chose to use them to show His power through their lives.
Your situation is fertile ground for the miraculous if it is impossible for you to handle. We often see the hard times and the impossible situations as bad, but God sees them as an opportunity to show His power and perform the miraculous. The greatest works of God in my own life have not happened when everything was perfect for a miracle to happen in my eyes, but they happened when I faced impossible situations that seemed to be hindering the work of God. My church grew significantly during the COVID pandemic. When many churches closed down, God blessed our church because we kept trusting Him to do the impossible, and the impossible He did by growing our church. We recently had a big day of over 1,000 in attendance on a day when it rained torrentially during the whole Sunday school and morning service. What we thought was impossible was God flexing His muscle to show He doesn't need “perfect” situations to show His power, but He needs us to trust Him that He can still perform the miraculous despite the impossible and hard situations we face.
Are you facing a difficult situation or a hard time? If you will trust God, you will see God turn your situation into the miraculous. When you face difficult and challenging times, take them as God’s orders to attempt the miraculous, for it is through these times that we are facing a harvest for the miraculous.
