Exodus 40:9

And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.

Exodus 40:34 says, Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. The glory of the LORD filling that tabernacle was undoubtedly one of the most amazing things to be a part of. God’s glory was so thick that Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation.

One looks at this and can only wish they could have this same filling and power on their own lives and ministry. However, this filling and power does not come without following God’s plan to get His confirming power on your life.

This all started with God’s people listening to God’s methods to make this happen. The verse above was God talking to Moses and Aaron to tell them what to do as they dedicated the tabernacle. You will never see God’s confirming power on your life until you first read God’s Word. There can be no power in the Christian’s life if they don't allow the power of God’s Word to speak to them and change their life. You must spend time in God’s Word daily. God’s Word is what prepares us and challenges us to do what it takes to get His confirming power on our lives.

Before there was an anointing, there was a cleansing of sin. Verse 12 says, And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. God’s Word always convicts you of your sin. You will never know God’s confirming power on your life if you don't get rid of the sin in your life. God cannot empower a life where sin has pushed Him to the side. You must empty yourself from sin for God’s power to take its place. God will never impose Himself on any person; therefore, if they want sin more than His power, the Holy Spirit will withdraw Himself from that person, but the result is that you will grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Oh, you will still have His presence in your life, but you will not have His power on your life.

Once a person is cleansed from sin is when there needs to be an anointing of God. The anointing of God is different from the filling of the Holy Spirit. The anointing is the setting apart for a specific task. You will notice that by anointing the tabernacle and its vessels, it hallowed it or made it sacred for God’s use. You will never know the filling of God without His anointing. Every believer needs to spend time getting God’s anointing on their life. Maybe the reason many ministries struggle is because they have never had the anointing for their ministry. You will never take your ministry serious until you take the anointing and hallow yourself for your ministry.

My friend, the Holy Spirit’s anointing on your life is what makes everything that you have different and holy for God to use. After He has anointed you and set you apart for that specific task, you must then be filled with His power so He can take the tools that He has anointed and use them mightily. God can do the miraculous through your ministry if you are cleansed from sin, anointed, and filled with His Holy Spirit power. God’s filling never comes without an anointing. The anointing never comes without confession of sin. Confession of sin will never happen if you don't spend time in God’s Word. These are the things you need if you want God’s confirming power on your life.
