Ezekiel 43:25
Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish.
When God reestablished the sacrifice, He told Israel to prepare every day a goat for a sin offering. This preparation was to be done seven days a week. God knew their heart would be prepared to serve Him if they prepared the sacrifice daily.
Nobody serves God accidentally; everyone who serves God successfully prepares their heart daily to serve Him. The success of your Christian walk will be determined by your daily preparation to serve God. I do several things daily to prepare my heart for God that I believe will benefit you if you will do the same.
First, I keep my daily routines. My routines start with a set time to get up daily. Getting up at the same time daily sets your heart to do the same thing for God each day. Those who have no set time to get up are those who are hit-and-miss in their walk with God. Routines are critical to preparing your heart for God to use you each day.
Second, I confess my sin to God every morning. I will not eat breakfast without my sin being confessed to God. I want my heart to be clear with God before I step into my day. You will do your Christian walk a big favor by confessing your sin to God every morning.
Third, I walk with God every morning. One of the first acts of my day is to get in God’s Word and read it. You cannot have a prepared heart to live for God if you don't read His Word daily. I read God’s Word to be fed spiritually, but I also read it to crucify my flesh so God can have His way in my life that day. Any day that you don't read God’s Word is a day you have prepared your heart to let your flesh have its way. A heart prepared for God is prepared because that individual purposely walked with God in the Scriptures that day.
Fourth, I spend time in prayer. You will not be in agreement with God if you don't spend time in prayer. Amos 3:3 asks, Can two walk together except they be agreed? Spending time in prayer daily is how you get your heart to be in agreement with God so that you will follow His lead daily.
Fifth, I yield to the Holy Spirit. The first act I do every morning is to yield to the Holy Spirit. I want the Holy Spirit to guide me in God’s Word, and I want Him to lead me through my daily life. I also spend time at the end of my morning prayer time begging the Holy Spirit to empower me. I need His power each day, and I know my heart will not be prepared to follow Christ if I don't have His power on my life. Then, several times throughout that day, I yield myself to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to guide me.
Sixth, I remind myself I belong to God that day. I want to live a holy life for God, but I will not live solely for Him if I don't remind myself that I am His, and I only have the right to do what He wants me to do. Before you leave your house, remind yourself that you are holy and have been set apart for God to use that day.
Seventh, I ask the Holy Spirit to lead me across the path of someone I can lead to Him or help that day. Your heart will be in tune with God’s leading if you are seeking someone daily to win to Christ.
