How to Get to Higher Places

Psalm 18:33
He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
One of the great separators of achievers and the average is that achievers are always climbing to new heights, but the average is OK with the status quo. You cannot be satisfied with the height that you have obtained if you are going to live a successful Christian life. As a Christian, I must constantly grow my faith by climbing to new heights. As a pastor, I must constantly try to bring my church to new heights spiritually and numerically. As a business owner, I cannot be satisfied with last year's achievements, but I must constantly strive to climb to new heights if I am going to see my business become better than any other business.
God teaches a principle for reaching new heights by using the hind. God says, He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet. God is teaching the importance of repetition and routine in our lives. The hind climbed to the high places by putting its hind feet in the same place that its front feet had already stepped. The hind realizes that its success in getting to new heights is by putting its back feet in the same position where the front feet climbed, but the front feet must reach for new heights if that hind is going to get to the high places. There are several principles we must learn and apply to achieve great heights in any area of our lives.
First, you climb to great heights through repetition. You will never climb to great heights if you do not repeat the good. It is in the repetition of good that allows you to climb to heights you never thought you could climb. Repetition may be boring, but repetition is what gets you to climb to new heights. The soul winner who becomes a great soul winner is the soul winner who repeatedly goes soul winning. It is not that one person is a better soul winner than another; it is that one soul winner keeps going soul winning when the other does not. The pastor who sees a church grow to great heights is the pastor who finds the methods that work and repeats them over and over again. The Christian who climbs to great heights is the Christian who figures out what works and does it repeatedly. The repetition of good is the key to climbing to great heights.
Second, you climbed to great heights by not being afraid of the hard. Climbing is not easy, but you cannot be afraid of doing the hard thing if you are going to climb to great heights. People who avoid doing the hard thing go nowhere in life. It is the one who repeatedly determines to do what is hard who climbs to great heights. If you avoid what is hard because you don't want to do it, then you will succeed at being average. The difference between the one who climbs to great heights and the average person is that the one who climbs to great heights takes the challenge of doing the hard thing. You can't avoid the pressure of the hard thing and climb to great heights.
Third, you climb to great heights by putting pressure on yourself to do more the next time. If you do the same thing all the time and never have the faith to reach out to do more, you will stay at the level that you are at, and you will die. The key to never dying and achieving new heights is never to stop climbing or to never stop trying to do something more the next time. Faith is never easy, but faith is where we find the challenge that keeps us alive. If you want to get to great heights in your life, never settle for the status quo, but always strive to do more than what you have already done.
