2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

God says all things become new when you get saved. One of the hardest things that we must do in the Christian life is to keep all things new and exciting. A great mistake many make is that they lose the newness of what they have and allow other things to take them away from serving God. If you will serve God successfully your entire life, you must keep your Christian life new.

Keeping things new in life is what makes everything in life exciting. The first time you went to a church it was new, but many people don't know how to keep the newness of the church that they go to. Those who get married have a hard time keeping their marriage new, but an exciting marriage will only be achieved if you keep the newness of the marriage. Newness can be attributed to any area of your life, whether it be your job, your possessions, your relationships, and especially your salvation. Let me share several things I do to keep all things new.

First, I choose to keep it new. Keeping things new is a choice of character. Don’t rely on circumstances for things to be new. Feelings and circumstances will quickly make things get old when the hard times come, but it is those who choose by character to keep things new that keep the excitement in everything they do and have.

Second, remember the first time. I keep things new in my life by remembering the first time I had what God has given to me. For instance, I often remember the night that I got saved and the excitement that it brought to my heart, and that remembrance keeps my salvation new. If you will remember the first time, it will keep all things in your life new.

Third, don’t look for greener grass. There is no greener grass when it comes to serving God. If you constantly look for a better way of life, you will find it, but you will find that other ways’ newness quickly wears out and brings heartache instead. You must determine in your life that the Christian life is the greatest way of living if you will keep it new. If you chose to serve God by faith, then don't undo in doubt the decision you made by faith.

Fourth, have a daily walk with God. Nothing keeps the newness of the Christian life exciting like walking with God in His Word and in prayer daily. One great reason people lose the newness of the Christian walk is because they don't walk with the God who keeps it new daily. Keeping the Christian life new is never achieved without walking with God daily.

Fifth, go soul winning. Soul winning has a way of bringing excitement back to your Christian walk. One reason God commands us to go soul winning is to help you keep your Christian life from getting old. Every time you lead someone to Christ and they come to church, it brings a newness back to your heart that you will never get any other way. You will keep the newness of the Christian life if you are leading people to Christ regularly.

Sixth, attempt acts of faith regularly. The faith life is the most exciting life, and every time God allows you to see an act of faith become a reality, it will make your Christian life new. Choose to attempt great acts of faith regularly, and when those acts of faith become a reality, you will experience the newness of the Christian life again.
