Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
When Jesus encountered two blind men who wanted Him to heal them, He asked them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? Jesus wanted to see what eyes they were looking through. When He asked them if they believed, they said, Yea, Lord. Their answer did not quite give Christ the answer He needed. Anybody can say they believe, but Jesus revealed which eyes they were seeing through by saying, According to your faith be it unto you. Jesus was showing that if they were looking through the eyes of faith, they would be healed.
You are either looking through your eyes or through the eyes of faith. When looking through your eyes, you will only see what you are capable of doing. When looking through your eyes, there are great limitations on what God can do through you. Sadly, most believers live their whole life looking through their eyes, and this is why they do so little for Christ. A pastor that leads his ministry through his eyes only accomplishes according to his strength and vision, which is little. The ministry worker, whether they be a Sunday school teacher or bus worker, will accomplish very little if they choose to lead through their eyes.
God wants us to live by faith. Faith is doing what you cannot see. It is the faith life where you see God do the miraculous. So few people live the faith life because they are afraid to attempt the unknown. The faith life is the life that goes as far as it can go trusting that God will be there for them to help them get to where their faith is trying to take them. The faith life is the most exciting life, but you cannot succeed in the faith life through your own power.
However, we cannot live the faith life in our own power. I want you to notice that Jesus touched their eyes before He said, According to your faith be it unto you. It takes God’s touch for you to see through faith. This is the key to seeing through the eyes of faith. You need God’s touch on your life to see through these eyes of faith. How do we see through the eyes of faith?
First, you must spend much time reading God’s Word. God’s Word has a way of challenging your faith. When you read God’s Word, look at it through faith to see where God wants to challenge you to do something beyond yourself.
Second, you must spend time in prayer to see through faith’s eyes. Prayer is where your faith receives strength. You cannot see where faith wants to take you if you don't walk with God in prayer. Prayer is where you put on the eyes of God to receive the courage that He will be there if you will step out by faith.
Third, attempt great things by faith. If you never attempt anything by faith, you will never see by faith. Attempting great things for God is where our faith vision grows.
Fourth, you must be organized. Organization helps you to see that your faith vision is possible. Most never get to where faith wants to take them because of their disorganization. Many faith attempts in the Scriptures were preceded by organization. Get organized if you want to see through faith eyes, because that is where you see that God has already given you the ability to accomplish by faith what He has placed on your heart.
