Psalm 40:8
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Doing God's Will for your life will be the only way that you will find your life to make the greatest impact while you are alive. The Will of God is simply doing what God made you to do. Before you were ever born, God had a purpose for placing you on this earth, and that purpose is His Will for your life. Therefore, you must find that purpose and fulfill it if you want your life to make the greatest impact with the time that you have to live. Doing God's Will for your life is simply being a good steward of the life that God has given you to live. Let me share several things that you can do to fulfill God's Will for your life successfully.
First, you must accept Christ as your personal Saviour. God's Will for everyone is to get saved. Every other thing really does not matter if you are unwilling to accept Christ as your personal Saviour. Getting saved is the first step in doing God's Will for your life.
Second, following the Lord in believer’s baptism is the second step in doing God's Will. If you're unwilling to follow the first command of growth, which is to be baptized after salvation, then you will never be willing to follow the purpose for which God has placed you on this earth to do. It would seem to be a simple thing to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism, yet so many struggle at this very second step of God's Will.
Third, you must make God's Will your delight in life. In other words, you must place God first in your life if you will fulfill His purpose and plan for your life. This is simply obeying Matthew 6:33. You will never do God's Will if you're unwilling to place God first. Putting God first in your life is planning your life around God's Will for your life, and not planning God's Will around your life. If God is not the center of your life, you will never fulfill the Will of God for your life.
Fourth, you must read God's Word if you will follow His Will for your life. In the pages of God's Word, you will find instructions that will keep you on the course of God's purpose and plan for your life. This is why the Psalmist said, thy law is within my heart. He was saying that you must read God's Word if you will fulfill the purpose and plan for which God has placed you on this earth to do.
Fifth, you must be a personal soul winner if you will fulfill God's Will for your life. Reaching the lost for Christ is at the center of God's Will, and reaching the lost will cause you not to live in His Will for your life. Nobody said that being a personal soul winner would be easy, but God never said that doing His Will would be easy either. Therefore, if you truly want to do God's Will for your life, you will make it your purpose in life to talk to every person you know about the Gospel that can save them from Hell.
Sixth, you must live a separated life if you will fulfill God's Will for your life. The Psalmist said, I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart. He was saying that he was not a secret believer, but a public one. You cannot live a secret life for God and fulfill His purpose for your life. The separated life is simply putting your life on display for the world to see that the Christian life is the best life to live. If you're not willing to live a separated life from the world, you will never fulfill God's purpose and plan for your life.
