The Works Must Be Worked

John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
John 5:20 said about Jesus, For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. You will notice that God the Father said Jesus would do greater works than the works that He had already performed. Then, Jesus promised in John 14:12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. So, the Father promised that Jesus would do greater works, and Jesus promised that you can do greater works because He would go to Heaven and give you His Holy Spirit to do those greater works.
However, the key to these greater works is found in John 9:4. Jesus said the key was, I must work the works. This is the key to greater works being done. The Father could not do greater works through Christ if Christ had not worked the works. The greater works would have been undone had Christ waited for the works to be done. Jesus had to work to see the deaf to hear, the blind to see, the lame to walk, the dead raised to life, and for the lost to be saved. Jesus knew that it takes work for the greater works to be accomplished.
The problem with most believers is they want to see the greater works of God without doing the work to see them happen. The greater works of God will not be done unless somebody works the work it takes to get those greater works done. The work of God does not happen without God’s people laboring in the harvest. This is why Jesus said in Matthew 11:29, Take my yoke upon you…. He did not say to take His vacation upon you. He did not say to take His socials upon you. He did not say to take His playground upon you. Jesus said to take His yoke upon you. God’s works take work for them to be accomplished.
The ministry is the work of God, and He has many greater works that He would like to do through your ministry if you will work the works it takes to see the greater works done. A bus is not filled without work. A Sunday school class does not grow without work. A church does not see great growth without work. Anything in the ministry takes work for God to work.
Moreover, it takes greater work for the greater works of God to be realized. You will not see greater works if you don't work tirelessly to see those works. Oh, too many want the greater works with little work, but you will never see the greater works without doing greater work. If you are only willing to walk one mile in the work of God, you will never see the greater works that come from walking the second mile. Most believers who work for God only work a little and see a little of the works that God can do, but it is those who go the second mile in the works of God that see the greater works of God.
Someone commented that President Trump works from 6 am to after midnight every day because his drive is to save his country. My friend, the greater works of God will only be done if we work greater than the average person. What is the purpose of working greater than others? The purpose is we have a country to save and souls to see saved. If you want to see God do greater works, then you must do greater work to see those greater works in your life.
