Isaiah 14:24
The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
There are several types of people when it comes to making things happen. There are lazy people who want everyone to do something for them. There are careless people who really don't care about anything. There are naysayers who say it cannot happen. There are talkers who talk about everything they say they can do and never do anything. There are planners who plan to do it but never do anything. There are triers who say they will try to do it but never do anything. Lastly, there are those who just make things happen and get things done. Sadly, this last crowd is the crowd that makes life enjoyable for all the other crowds. This last crowd doesn't complain about making things happen, but they sure could use the help from the rest of those who enjoy the fruits of the labors of this last crowd.
God gives us insight into the thinking process of this last crowd that makes things happen and gets what they started done. If believers would become a person who stop talking about what they can do and would just make things happen, we could reach our cities for Christ. Let’s look at the mindsets of those who make things happen and get things done.
First, an I can mindset is critical to making things happen and getting things done. How you think does affect your outlook on life and potential accomplishments. You will notice the Scriptures say about the LORD, Surely, as I have thought, so shall it come to pass. Your mindset affects your outlook on making things happen and getting things done. You will never make anything happen if you don't have a positive mindset toward faith possibilities. You will never get anything done if you don't have an I can mindset. Philippians 4:13 says, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. I can is a positive mindset that never looks at things and says it can't be done. The I can mindset believes you can find a way to make things happen; you just have to think and pray a little harder. You will only make things happen and get things done if you have a positive outlook.
Second, a purpose mindset is critical to making things happen and getting things done. If you don't purpose to do something, you surely will not do it. The Scriptures say about the LORD, as I have purposed, so shall it stand. If you don't purpose to do something, it will never happen. In other words, set a time and do it whether or not you feel like it. If you have no resolve to make something happen, it surely will not happen. You must have a purpose and a resolve to make something happen no matter the obstacles that you face.
Third, an I will mindset is critical to making things happen and getting things done. Several times it says about the LORD, I will. You must will yourself to do something even when you don't feel like doing it. Those who accomplish great feats are those who willed themselves to do what needed to be done despite not feeling like it. An I will mindset sets feelings aside and does what needs to be done, and that is why they get things done.
Fourth, a finishing mindset is critical to making things happen and getting things done. It says about the LORD, so shall it come to pass. You must determine to finish no matter the cost if you will be a person who makes things happen and gets things done.
